JUST a few months after it was revealed that he had split with actor/director Gracie Otto, Matthew Newton has been seeing a new woman who looks a little like her.

The Underbelly actor has been keeping company with Tamsyn Rosenberg, a stunning waitress at hip Victoria St, Potts Point, cafe Dolcetta.

Matt Newton has not only been hanging at Dolcetta but has also been spotted leaving Rosenberg's Darlinghurst pad on the weekend.

She has been telling friends that it is just a casual thing.

However, some who have observed Newton openly kissing the petite blonde say that he appears smitten.

"Not so,'' says his spokesman, Jillian Bowen.

"This is just the place where he goes to have breakfast. They have a few mutual friends but there is nothing to it.''

Newton's career has been going on the up and up lately after his disastrous court case over an alleged assault on former girlfriend Brooke Satchwell.

This saw the young actor lose work - most notably a lucrative radio gig with Nova.

However, his dedication to his craft and his solid relationship with Gracie Otto, which included living in her family home, saw his image slowly turn around.

Newton has recently moved into his own digs in inner-city Sydney.
